Trek 4 Trykes is a fundraiser to provide Amtryke therapeutic tricycles to people with disabilities right here in the Piedmont-Triad. Click the gray Join the Event button to make a difference today!
What is a Trek, you say? You can Trek it your way: Walk or Run! Our (roughly) 5k route will follow the lovely Bicentennial Greenway, begining at 4285 Regency Drive, Greensboro. Registration begins at 8:30. Tryke giveaway and winners announced at 9 am. Warm up at 9:30. Race begins at 10 am.
Fun trophies for the top three fundraisers and a spirit prize will be awarded. There will also be face painting, a bouncy house, kids on Amtyrkes, refreshments, and lots of fun activities!
Trek 4 Trykes registration is only $20 but we encourage every "Trekker" to raise $100 or more in pledges from friends, family and community connections - to get more riders rolling.
Every registered Trekker and day-of-event volunteer will receive an awesome event t-shirt. Day-of-event registration is available, but Trekkers who register after April 15th cannot be guaranteed a t-shirt. Unregistered fundraisers of $20 or more (those who want to help but don't want to walk/run or volunteer) will also recieve a t-shirt at the event.
The Piedmont Chapter of AMBUCS, a nationwide 501c3 charity dedicated to Creating Mobility & Independence for People with Disabilities, will host the event. All pledges are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
Right now 37 children with disabilities from the Triad area are waiting for funding for the fun and freedom of their very own Amtryke. Parents, recipients and therapists have noted that the Amtryke not only provides improved strength, tone and coordination but also confidence and positive peer interaction.
