Earlier this year I laced up my sneakers and completed my 1st Walt Disney World Goofy Challenge--A Half Marathon on Saturday, followed by a Full Marathon the next day: running a total of 39.3 miles at the Happiest Place on Earth :) After happily running through Cinderella's castle, trumpets a-blaring, I can declare it official: Dreams DO come true! Now it's time for me to toe the line once again at my first New York City Marathon-- Yes, I'm FINALLY IN!!!! (and because I couldn't resist to run in MY kind of town, I'm running Chicago too!)
Last Fall, I had the unbelievable experience of running with Team DeterMination/ American Cancer Society. I've decided to again join thousands of athletes with the opportunity to raise funds for various charity organizations. I am teaming with the New York Road Runners and Crowdrise in making my debut in the ING NYC Marathon count towards a goal of raising $1 million per mile--$26.2 M! Each runner will contribute to this overall goal by supporting their respective chosen charities and this year, I will be running for the American Diabetes Association.
Diabetes is an epidemic which affects millions worldwide including several members of my family. This race is dedicated to the entire Borja-Camba Family :) With your generous donation, the ADA is able to fund research to prevent, cure and manage this disease. For more information on this disorder go to www.diabetes.org.
THANK YOU in advance for your generosity and again for your neverending support! The countdown to Chicago (October 9) and New York (November 6) continues!
