Cynthia Saves Coral Reefs in Borneo
Organized by: Cynthia Carvajal
I had a life changing experience swimming with dolphins in the wild. After that experience, my life was devoted to being an ocean ambassador. I founded the non profit Ocean Lifeline in 2010. We have filmed documentaries on the plastic crisis, painted ocean murals with children and created ocean awareness campaigns and art shows in New York. The next big conservation project, I will be traveling to Borneo to volunteer as a diver planting coral onto an artificial reef. The coral reefs are 95% decimated due to overfishing and illegal dynamite fishing. The artificial coral reefs will help bring back the marine life to the ocean. I will be teaming up with 15 dive volunteers with the Tropical Research and Conservation Centre. Our goal is to plant as much coral onto a shark sculpture during the month of November. It is required for me to provide all of my diving gear and your donation will help with the cost of this equipment as well as divers insurance and accommodations. Every single drop of kindness ripples and makes an impact to save our oceans from environmental harm.
