Running with NYCH3

BENEFITING: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
ORGANIZER: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Hi, I'm Donielle, a single, white female living in NYC. Oh wait, this isn't a dating site...
I completed my first marathon April 2016 in Bend, Oregon and thought I'd never run another in my life. There was no cause to back, simply a personal mission to run 26.2 because it sounded cool, and I was all about the street cred. I mean... ;-). We did it, we completed it, and yet, the victory felt empty.
I wanted a redo.
An opportunity to pursue a marathon for something bigger than myself.
Something to make the pain worthwhile.
A mission to make an actual difference.
I'm honored to be running the NYC Marathon 2017 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation this year. Other than a childhood friend who's father has beaten all of the odds at 58 years old, I don't have a family story. I don't have close friends suffering from the disease, or a cousin who died from CF...it's not as personal for me as it is for some. That doesn't mean it isn't about to get personal, because it most definitely is. Follow me as I begin to put a face to this disease...as I hear the stories...feel the pain, the joy, the hope, and hopefully, watching this journey will bless your life as much as it's about to bless mine.

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
We Are Adding Tomorrows.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. We fund more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support.
