EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
Last fall Aubrie walked into my classroom and immediately captured my heart.
Aubrie has Cystic Fibrosis, and I have witnessed how this affects her daily life. CF is a disease that causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs, leading to life threatening infections. It also blocks the pancreas, stopping enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
In spite of all this, Aubrie dances down the hall each morning with a huge smile on her face. She is always making me laugh. She inspires me daily to be courageous, be myself, and live with happiness in my heart. Watch her video and you, too, will catch her infectious spirit.
This year I signed up for the Half Marathon to "Run for a Reason" - to fundraise for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and honor Aubrie who is teaching me just as much as I am teaching her.
I would be very grateful if you could help support this cause.
