EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
Dear Family & Friends,
As many of you already know, my brother-in-law Doug Soxman ran the Pittsburgh marathon last May for his daughter Natalie who was born with Cystic Fibrosis. *Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the US (70,000 worldwide). In the 1950s, few children with CF lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended lives of those living with CF to mid to late 30's, which is still way too young!!
On January 25th, Natalie turned one! Watching her grow throughout this past year and seeing Doug cross his first marathon finish line for his new little baby girl inspired me beyond words. His devotion and dedication, along with Lindsey's love and support, and above all, Natalie's beautiful smile and sweet personality have motivated me to do something I never dreamed I'd do. Following Doug's lead, I have made the committment to run the half marathon this year to help raise money for the CF Foundation so that Natalie, and all others with CF, can hopefully one day be CF free!
Please join me in the fight to find a cure, and thank you for all your love and support!
P.S. If you scroll through my pics with the arrows, please take a moment to watch one of the most inspiring videos of a brother & sister living with CF!
