BENEFITING: CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: May 03, 2015
For the past two and a half years, I put my heart and soul into the events that I organize. I love looking back and knowing that I did my part to help fund Kalydeco and the Kalydeco combo drug that is a potential treatment for such a large portion of the CF Community - more than 50%. I look at the CF patients I have come to know and love, and realize that the work I am doing is literally going to add days and years to their lives.
Even though I’m moving towards a different career, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation means so much to me, and I will be continuing to raise money for the foundation. So this year, instead of just sitting back and organizing an event, instead of watching everyone else sweat it out, instead of cheering as everyone else pushes themselves to break their physical ceiling to hit their goal, I am getting off my butt and walk the walk.
This year, I am challenging myself to run the Pittsburgh Half Marathon for the first time. The longest I've ever ran was 8 miles for the EQT 10 Miller (I ran 8, and then walked/jogged the last 2 miles). I can't imagine being on my feet, in motion for 3 hours, but I am doing it. I am doing it for this charity I have come to love and whole heartedly support. I believe in our mission. I believe in our leadership. I believe that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that in our lifetime we will find a cure for this disease.
I am asking for your help. I am asking for your support. I am asking you to make a donation today. Any amount helps. Any amount will get me one step closer to my goal of $1,310. If every participant in one of my events over the past 2 years donates just $10 I surpass that goal!!!
