No Stomach For Cancer is excited to kick off November Stomach Cancer Awareness Month® with our 3rd Annual No Stomach For Cancer Walk, raising awareness as we join together to support research and unite the caring power of people worldwide affected by stomach cancer.
Both my mom and I tested positive for the CDH1 genetic mutation. In March of 2010 my mom had her stomach removed prophylactically and in May of 2014, I also went through the same surgery. Stomach cancer was found in both of our stomachs on pathology. Thankfully, it was caught early enough and the surgeries were curative.
Thanks to Stomach Cancer research, my mom and myself have been given a choice to stop Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer before it stopped us. No Stomach for Cancer has played a large supportive role throughout these past four years and we are looking forward to giving back.
