DOGSTERS SPAY & NEUTER PROGRAM wrote -
Spay and neuter is the only way to prevent the overwhelming number of puppies, kittens, dogs and cats that will end up in shelters and with rescue groups. Cost is the main reason that owners do not have their pets fixed.
WHAT WE DO
Dogster's Spay & Neuter Programs (D-SNiP) main goal is to end pet overpopulation and shelter euthanasia through low-cost spay and neuter services. D-SNiP provides low-cost (sometimes free!) spay/neuter services to pet owners, shelters and rescue groups. We also provide emergency veterinary, rescue and foster care for animals in need on a case-by-case basis.
Summer of 2011 marked the start of our low-cost, high-quality, high-volume mobile spay and neuter unit, enabling D-SNiP to assist in the fight against pet overpopulation in the Four Corners. We travel to perform affordable spay/neuter surgeries to underserved communities. Our team has altered over 6,000 cats and dogs during our MASH and mobile unit clinics.
WHO WE ARE
Affordable spay and neuter for dogs and cats has been a priority of D-SNiP for 17 years. Founded in 1999 with private funds, we have grown and developed into a 501 (c) 3 non-profit based on grants, donations and fundraising efforts. In 2011, D-SNiP received grants to purchase and outfit a high-quality, high-volume mobile spay/neuter unit. Funding for this project also included hands-on training for the staff with the ASPCA National Spay/Neuter Project. Since that time D-SNiP continues to partner with many local animal agencies and pet owners to provide affordable high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinics, an average of 1,700 dogs and cats each year. D-SNiP believes that most owners want to do the right thing for their pets; they just don’t always have the means, opportunity or information. That’s where we provide the much needed help!
Spay and neuter programs target the pet overpopulation problem at its source by preventing litters, the only proactive way to reduce and eliminate pet overpopulation and shelter euthanasia.
