D2N: Schools in Remote Himalayas Needs Support

Over 8500 schools were destroyed in the Nepal earthquake in April and May 2015. Detroit2Nepal Foundation, is a registered non-profit organization, founded by Dr Richard Keidan, an Oncology Surgeon based in Detroit. Since 2010, their key mission to improve public health, health and educational opportunities for children in remote Himalayan villages of Nepal. These areas are so remote, that the Dr Richard has not seen any tourist in the villages. Trekking to these area takes days and is unexplored by trekkers. D2N have been helping the Nepal community for the last 5 years by supporting schools and building health centres.  They are currently rebuilding 3 schools affected by the earth quake namely:- (a) Chandra Primary School, Sungdel VDC (b) Yuva Jyoti Primary School, Dipsung VDC (c) Janahit Primary School, Rakha Bangdel, VDC D2N hope to rebuild 6 more schools by 2018. Siddha Kanya L S School, Rakha Dhana Kanya School, Rakha Singha Devi PSchool, Rakha  Bouddha Primary School, Rahka Baikalpik Primary School, Rahka Surya Secondary School, Sungdel We hope to raise part of the school rebuilding fund through this portal; with the rest coming from other individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of the children
