Daddy needs a new leg!
Organized by: simay book
My name is Gary, I’m 34 and I'm a divorced father with primary custody of my 2 loving boys; Cameron 6 years old and Cayden 8 years old. On the 4th of July 2015 I was involved in a side collision by another vehicle on my motorcycle crushing my right leg. After the first surgery failed on the 4th of July, to try and save my leg, doctors decided that my leg need amputated. On the 5th of July I lost my leg and unfortunately on the 2nd of September I had another amputation on my leg due to an ongoing infection. Due to the accident I'm on short term disability and won't be able to return to work until I acquire the prosthesis to walk. Due to my family’s needs, my medical bills and mortgage I’m unable to afford the prosthesis leg on my own. I have a very physical job that involves being on my feet for 8-10 hours a day. Lifting, bending and operating heavy machinery is a requirement at my job therefore a mechanical prosthesis is ideal for me to perform my daily duties safely and comfortably. I still have many months of rehabilitation and physical therapy to endure, which will be costly before I can even think about being fitted for the prosthesis. If you know anyone who has ever had an amputation they will tell you the pain and suffering you go through. I wish only return to a normal life so I may go back to my job, enjoy the outdoors with my family and be the father figure my boys need. Thank you and god bless.
