Dads Love Their Kids Too
Organized by: Dave Grantham
I lost my father when I was five years old, albeit for good cause. He was there one day and gone from my life forever the next. I went through 25 years of pain and anguish before I took on the challenge of overcoming the fear and shame he created from both his presence and his absence. I know the importance of a healthy and loving father to girls and boys. I know how a great father can enrich his children's lives and how much a loving father's absence can scare, bewilder, and anger a child. My entire life, I believed my reason for existence was, in terms of love and attention, to give my children everything I did not have growing up and nothing that I did. My children are my life's purpose and my life's love. Since being involved in a custody dispute with my estranged spouse, I have learned first hand the unwritten, unstated, anachronistic, and shameful prejudice of the judicial system toward the mother. We are living in a time where fathers, just as much as mothers, are a part of the emotional, intellectual, and physical wellbeing of their children. Please help good fathers maintain the close bond with their children that they both deserve by supporting this fund. The money will be used to pay for the legal defense of loving and deserving fathers who have been subject to litigatory opportunism and malice by their estranged spouses and prejudice toward mothers by the judicial system. This is not a fund against mothers. Rather, it is a fund to support fathers seeking custodial equality in the eyes of the justice system and protection from unjustified malice by mothers using children as reprisal against their fathers. Children need as much healthy, frequent contact with both parents as possible. This fund is designed to assist fathers in overcoming the unfair challenges they face in custody litigation by helping them afford proper legal counsel and the means to demonstrate the love they have for their children. The funds may be used, for example, to retain a specialized father's rights attorney, to pay for a psychological evaluation for custody, or to provide the resources for fathers burdened by child support to take their children somewhere fun and enriching to show the children and the courts how much fathers' love their children.
