Organized by: Jerry Reed
This is to support a Soldier, Husband, Father, and War Veteran as he decides that his family is the most important thing in his life. This Soldier and Veteran of the Iraq war loved his military life. Then one day he met the love of his life and they started a family together. He tried to maintain his family and military career. As time went by his fight with the demons of war eventually took over and almost cost him his family. With the urging of his wife he sought treatment and was diagnosed with PTSD. During his treatment and counseling he finally realized what truly was the focus of his life, his wife and children. He set forward a plan to leave the military and focus on his families happiness. Before leaving the military he laid out a plan that would support his family and also be a rewarding career. He decided to become a nurse. While still on Active duty he took classes at night and earned is RN degree. While in school he discovered he really liked the nursing field and wanted to expand his options. He decided to become a CRNA one day. The requirements for admission to a CRNA program required at a minimum 1 year of ICU experience. He set forth and for almost 2 years performed his military duties while working a second job in the local hospitals ICU. The sacrifice and time commitment was so he could expedite his departure from the Military and pursue his new passion. CRNA school does not allow students to work during the 3 years of the program, so this soldier needs our support to help fund himself and his family during this transition.
