BENEFITING: Coffee Kids, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Mar 31, 2014
If it weren't for the hardworking coffee farmers, you wouldn't get to enjoy your morning elixir of coffee. They spend long hours hand picking the ripest, best quality coffee cherries. This is their livelihood.
As most of you know, I'm kind of a coffee geek. But what you may not know is how passionate I am to support Coffee Farmers. This is where I need your help.
It's the month of love! Your generous donation will help coffee farmers produce the coffee YOU love and desire. It's also my birth month and what better way to celebrate with you than a month long fundraiser to one of my favorite causes, Coffee Kids. Donate now!
"Coffee Kids promotes self-determination, addressing the roots of poverty by helping coffee-farming families determine their own vision of the future."
Any amount you donate is helpful. If you can't help financially, you can still help by sharing this with other coffee lovers.
Here are some examples how your donation will help:
-With just $5, a family in Veracruz can grow a fruit tree to diversify their diets and improve family nutrition.
-$10 can provide a family in Veracruz with the materials necessary to grow a variety of vegetables to diversify their diets, improve their nutrition and to sell in local markets.
-$35 can help a family in Veracruz learn how to grow a variety of vegetables organically and how to prepare healthy meals with them.
-With $50 a woman in Chiapas, Mexico, can attend a series of workshops to learn methods of artisanal food canning and preservation for both personal consumption and to sell in local markets to generate additional income.
-With $75, a family in Oaxaca, Mexico, can purchase an earthworm-compost module to ecologically convert their household food waste into nutrient-rich compost for their vegetable garden.
-With $125, a family in Oaxaca, Mexico, can construct a backyard vegetable garden to diversify their diets, save money, and improve access to food.
