This year, m2m Mentor Mother Dalitso Blamu has been chosen to be a cyclist in Cycle to Zero Malawi 2016! Dalitso is 27 years old and was diagnosed as HIV positive in 2012 at Limbe Health Centre in Malawi, when she was three months pregnant with her first child. When speaking of her feelings at this time, Dalitso says the emotional support and medical advice she received from other Mentor Mothers who had had the same experiences gave her comfort and courage. With their encouragement, she was able to look positively at her future. In 2013, Dalitso saw an advert for a Mentor Mother position at Limbe Health Centre and decided to apply so that she could support others as she had been supported herself. Her daughter, Favour, is now 3 years old and has tested HIV negative. Dalitso is so excited to join the Cycle to Zero team in her native country of Malawi to raise even more awareness of the brilliant work that our Mentor Mothers do.
