BENEFITING: FOODS RESOURCE BANK
As many of you know, every year for my birthday I ask that all of you not buy me gifts but instead make donations to a charity. This year, I'm changing things up a bit and dedicating this birthday fundraising drive to Foods Resource Bank (FRB).
FRB is an awesome organization that works with partner organizations all around the world to fund and implement lasting solutions to world hunger through agricultural development. Just about all of their funds are raised by U.S. farming communities who join together to create "growing projects." These growing projects then select overseas programs they wish to support through FRB. It is a great model and has proven very successful and meaningful.
I recently had the privilege of traveling to Sierra Leone (in West Africa) to visit and learn more about two of FRB's sponsored programs (one through Catholic Relief Services and the other through World Hope International). The work being done in Sierra Leone amazed me and testified to the effectiveness of FRB and its partner organizations. Lives and communities are truly being transformed in real, sustainable ways.
In celebration of my 21st birthday (on February 7th), please join me in supporting FRB! I ask that each of you donate $21 (or more!) rather than buy me gifts. You all have been extremely generous and supportive in years past, for which I am very grateful. Let's make this year even bigger and better!
