BENEFITING: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
EVENT: 2015 NEW YORK CITY TRIATHLON
EVENT DATE: Jul 19, 2015
Dear Friends & Family and Valued Partners;
For the past seven years, I have been participating in the New York City Triathlon to raise money and awareness for The Hole in the Wall Camp. Since 2010, we have raised over $200,000 which has sent over 50 children who are seriously ill with blood diseases to the camp. On average every $2,500 will send a child in need to Hole in the Wall Camp for the summer. I continue to raise funds in honor of Antonino Labate Memorial fund.
About the Hole in the Wall Camp, it was founded by Paul Newman in 1988, and named for the secret, outlaw hiding-place from his film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hole in the Wall Camp has been serving seriously ill children with a remarkably empowering away experience for more than twenty years. Every summer at Hole in the Wall Camps, hundreds of children become athletes and actors, painters and poets, swimmers and singers, clowns and canoe paddlers, naturalists, equestrians, and hot air balloonists. It is amazing what these campers accomplish in one week; just as amazing are the obstacles they overcome on a daily basis, for these children suffer from serious illnesses such as cancer, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, and hemophilia. Camp helps keep them going – throughout the many challenges of serious illness. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. I am thankful for whatever amount you may be able to contribute. I am hoping that with help from many it will help me accomplish our team goal of raising $50,000 this year and my personal of raising $10,000.
