The need for blood is constant, in fact, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. In your lifetime, there is a good chance that you or a loved one will need a blood transfusion.
On July 25, you can help the American Red Cross North Central Blood Services deliver lifesaving blood to those in need by participating in the 7th Annual 2015 Run for Blood 5K and Community Blood Drive.
You can help. Lace up your running shoes, help raise funds, or donate blood! You can do your part to make certain the Red Cross has the resources it needs to provide nearly 40% of blood and blood products used in our country. Whether you are a competitive runner, a casual walker, or just love the idea of supporting a wonderful cause, participating in the Run for Blood allows you to show your support.
It’s the blood products on the shelves that help save lives in an emergency. There is no alternative to blood transfusions for accident and burn victims, heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, and many more.
Proceeds benefit the Red Cross North Central Blood Services Region that provides lifesaving blood for 108 hospitals in Minnesota, western Wisconsin and eastern South Dakota.
