BENEFITING: Journeys Within Our Community
During our trip to adopt Dan, we were deeply moved by the beauty of Cambodia and of the hardships of it’s amazing people. We vowed to find a way to give back that could make a difference. We would appreciate your help in sending a deserving Cambodian student to college.
Poverty makes affording college a luxury in Cambodia. The JWOC scholarships pay for full tuition and textbooks. We will meet the scholarship recipient on our return trip to Cambodia this summer. Further communication will come via monthly e-mails.
JWOC is a non-profit based in Cambodia, which has projects that address educational, health and economic issues. The projects include safe water - health and hygiene practices, village gardens, micro financing for small business owners, and free education classes (academic and vocational) for all ages.
Here’s the great part, the scholarship students pay it forward by volunteering as staff for the other JWOC Projects. Giving to the Scholarship program is a way to support all of the projects. We are excited by the chance to give to a sustainable program like this!
