I was devastated when I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in April 2016. I assumed I was going to die. However, I put my faith in God and eventually was at peace with whatever was going to happen. I went through 8 rounds of chemotherapy and then had a bilateral mastectomy. I am now cancer free and so grateful for each and every day I have! I feel so blessed to have had so much love and support from my family, my friends and my church. I now want to do what I can to support others who are dealing with this life changing diagnosis. I am participating in the Pink Fund's "Dancing with the Survivors" to help raise funds to cover non-medical expenses of breast cancer patients who are struggling financially. The event takes place on October 4th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel North, and is exactly one year after my bilateral mastectomy! If you are interested in attending the event, tickets can be purchased for $20 per person or $30 per couple.
