Dancing with the Kats Havana Nights, is a dance competition and dance benefit at Sam Houston State University and is being hosted by Bailamos Latin Dance Organization, Omega Delta Phi Fraternity, Inc., The Talented Tenth and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. The event, which will take place Monday, November 16, is setup similar to the style of Dancing with the Stars. We have scouted 8 different couples from our campus, and paired them with a choreographer who will be teaching them their routine for the night of the competition. Our Goal in this event is to raise as many funds as possible through the selling of event tickets, t shirts, raffle tickets, and via donors. All proceeds from this event will be donated to United Way and the Dizzy Feet Foundation. Aside from raising fund for our respective philanthropies, we really strive to create an cultural event that promotes unity amongst the many diverse groups out campus embodies. We truly believe that dance is the only universal language that unites us all as humans which is why we felt that a dance event would be a great way to achieve this goal. Through your generous donations we will be able to have a fun filled cultural event, and give back to those in need!
