THE STORY:

Hi friends!

I will be running the Chicago Marathon on October 8, 2017. As many of you know, I ran my first marathon two years ago. As as much as I felt crazed for voluntarily putting putting my body through the torturous exercise of running, and then repeating the process every week for multiple months... I knew it would only be a matter of time before I signed up again. Before I get ahead of myself, I've never considered myself a "runner". Running just for running's sake will never be enough reason for me to sign up. What's the purpose of doing it rather than just getting to the finish line then? Running for a cause that is close to my heart- Jogging for Josh Organization for Autism Research. Josh is the brother of my good friend Alyssa whom was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3. He's funny, charming, loves the Chicago Blackhawks, and still refuses to say hi to me! He's a pure joy to everyone who has ever had the privedge to meet and he's made us all better. I'd voluntarily run 26.2 miles time and time again if it means I am able to spread awareness, provide scholarships, and fund research for others like Josh. And so I ask you all, may it be big or small, please take the time to make a donation to this wonderful charity. Jogging for Josh thanks you lots!

The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is an Official Charity with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and has a limited number of guaranteed entries available for the race on October 8, 2017.

To join the RUN FOR AUTISM team, click "SET UP YOUR FUNDRAISER".

REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

To receive guaranteed race entry though OAR, you must agree to the fundraising requirement set by the race:

  1. Runners who register for the race with a charity entry prior to the drawing (Oct. 25 - Nov. 29) will receive complimentary race entry ($195-$210 value) and must commit to a $1,000 fundraising minimum.
  2. Runners who register for the race with a charity entry after the drawing is selected (Dec. 13) must commit to a $1,500 fundraising minimum.

The fundraising deadline is one month after the race (Nov. 8, 2017).

*By agreeing to the fundraising requirement and verifying their credit card information, runners are assuming full responsibility for achieving their fundraising minimum in full, even in the case of unforeseen circumstances including injury, which may prevent them from participating in the event.

To fundraise for OAR without receiving guaranteed race entry, join the team with no required fundraising minimum. (This option is for legacy runners, time qualifiers, 2016 deferments, or those selected through the drawing in December).
