My name is Daniel Diaz and I am currently a senior at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Throughout the last 8 years of my life, I have developed the competition of running into a lifestyle. I've been running competitively for eight years, throughout high school and college. As I come to the end of my student athlete career I have set my eyes on a new journey: The Boston Marathon. My goal is to use my passion for running in a way that positively affects people around me. I began volunteering at Cradles to Crayons in September 2012, and the experience has been life changing. Cradles is doing AMAZING things to help low income children receive the essentials they need to live. I truly believe in this organization and myself. With your help we can really make a difference for those who are not as fortunate. I'm running for the kids.

MORE ABOUT CRADLES TO CRAYONS FROM THE ORGANIZATION:
CRADLES TO CRAYONS INC wrote -
Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons is an innovative non-profit that provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive - at home, at school and at play. We supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need. The Cradles to Crayons model relies on the generous financial, in-kind, and volunteer support from individuals and families to provide fundamental resources to thousands of the most financially- disadvantaged children living across Massachusetts.
A winter coat for a homeless child not only warms the body, but it fosters hope. A backpack full of supplies at the beginning of the school year for a child served by Cradles to Crayons means they are excited and eager to learn instead of nervous and self-conscious. Clothing for a week for two children means a mother can make purchasing food for her family a priority, without guilt or regret. By using the power of community connections to fill a niche in the non-profit sector, Cradles to Crayons has impacted the lives of more than 290,000 children living in low-income or homeless situations across Massachusetts.
