BENEFITING: FIRST LOVE MINISTRIES USA
Hi Soccer Friends,
Remember our buddy Daniel Okabe? He returned to Uganda in February after the last few years in the U.S. getting his college degree at Vanguard. He's back in Uganda, working with his mom, dad, brothers and sisters serving the kids in the orphanage and running the radio station, Faith Radio.
It's been quite an adjustment leaving his dear friends in the U.S. and transitioning to life back home in Uganda. Believe it or not, he misses playing soccer with all of us!
Daniel now has a vision to start a soccer club for the 600 children at the orphanage and street kids that Impact Ministries serves!
Soccer is the main sport played by the youth in Uganda every evening after school and it also keeps some of them active who don't have jobs and not idle and getting into trouble. Daniel's initial goal is to start two soccer clubs.
How can we help these kids and build a soccer ministry in Uganda? We can supply the funds needed for the soccer equipment, uniforms, and balls. It's hard to believe but the same funds for 13 kids to play AYSO in Orange County, can impact hundreds of kids in Uganda.
All of the necessary equipment will be purchased by Daniel in Uganda to avoid costly shipping and customs fees. Plus, it might not get through Ugandan borders safe anyway.
I think we should target 1 month to raise the funds. If you can't afford to donate right now, no problem!!! Maybe you can tell a friend or relative about it, and they can give a few dollars. A bunch of people can come together and raise money fairly quickly when THE GOAL is worth it!
For our buddy Daniel and the kids to enjoy playing soccer!

Also, that's Jake Tirabassi, another soccer friend from Orange County in the photo with Daniel. Jake and his wife Kara are living in Gulu, Uganda for the 2nd year and visited Daniel's orphanage in March 2014.
