From:Randolph Schultz Thanks…
From:Randolph Schultz Thanks everyone. This Boston Marathon was truly a huge lifetime event. Being accepted as a member of Team Hoyt on their 30th running of Boston and participating with this awesome group was way over the top! And to top all that: The thousands of volunteers supporting the aid stations and medical support; THE People of Mass. and the world that lined the 26.2 mile course From Hopkinton to Ashland to Framingham to Natick to Wellesley to Newton, to Brookline to Boston who got me to the finish with their cheers, encouragement, ice pops, oreos, frozen water bottles, ice cubes when I asked inorder to refill my neck wrap to cool me down, and I got all this as a tail end runner bringing up the rear echelon; these people stayed for the 11th inning, they are dedicated fans with no equal, their support pulled me to finish in 6 hours and 40 minutes...(A special shout out to Uta Pippig, our team coach, who met me with hugs and congratulations with just under a mile to go-You are the best, Uta!) I'll post a video I took coming down the last quarter mile to the finish and you will see the support that was there for me! Running with the Team Hoyt singlet, I was recognized and immediately accepted as a family member in everyone of those communities and they welcomed me with open arms. As Derek says, he and I will share many more adventures, but I will be truly amazed when we encounter one that tops this 116th Boston Marathon adventure! Very Best Regards, Randy

Dear Dan;

Thank you for your very generous donation of $50 to the Hoyt Foundation Inc. It is greatly appreciated, and it will help me reach my fundraising goal for the 2012 Boston Marathon.

Money donated to the Hoyt Foundation Inc. is used to promote disability awareness through their donations to local organizations. For the past several years, we have been able to give Easter Seals Massachusetts $25,000 for their summer camp programs, as well as a $25,000 donation to Children’s Hospital Boston for their Augmentative Communication Department, so they could help train people to use a communication device like Rick is using. We also have helped out many local therapeutic horseback riding organizations and summer camps for the disabled, and have donated running chairs to several organizations.

On behalf of Dick and Rick Hoyt, and myself, thank you again for your support.
