BENEFITING: DANNY DID FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: DANNY DID FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: May 18, 2016
Illinois State Senator Dan Kotowski and Carrie McAteer serve on the Danny Did Foundation board of directors and share something in common: living with epilepsy. They know firsthand the fear, anxiety and uncertainty that is part of living with this disease. Dan and Carrie feel fortunate that their seizures are well-controlled with medication, and this gratitude has instilled a desire in them to fiercely advocate on behalf of others.
Dan has lived with epilepsy since he was 14. As a state senator, Dan fought each day for policies and laws that uplift families who face epilepsy. Dan now serves as the CEO of ChildServ, a nonprofit that helps at-risk children and their families build better lives and reach their potential.
Carrie was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was a teenager. Her personal experience with this often misunderstood disease has led to her desire to raise awareness of epilepsy, and she is thrilled to do so through the Danny Did Foundation.
Any size donation to Danny Did in the 2016 Art Van Charity Challenge will help fund seizure monitoring devices for families who face epilepsy. We greatly appreciate your support of a cause we are passionate about!
