BENEFITING: PATRIOT PAWS SERVICE DOGS
I'm proud to join the Texas Federation of Republican Women in supporting Patriot Paws Service Dogs' campaign to sponsor service dogs for disabled veterans. Patriot Paws is a non-profit organization whose mission is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American combat veterans with mobile disabilities and PTSD to help restore their physical and emotional independence.
I was honored to meet Tommy the service dog this month at the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Legislative Day luncheon and learn about their mission to team more service dogs with veterans. These service dogs can make a true difference in the lives of our veterans and perform potentially life-saving tasks when needed. It costs a minimum of $30,000 to acquire a puppy, train him/her and then train the Veteran. This training includes instructional materials, supplies, and support for training the disabled veterans. The program also includes home visits, public access testing and follow-up support for the life of the dog/Veteran team.
I ask you to join Jan and me in honoring our service men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. The cost of a service dog for a disabled veteran is generally out of reach.
Jan and I are starting off with a contribution of $5000. Please contribute whatever you can afford and keep our service men and women in your prayers.
Patriot PAWS Service Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your gift may be tax-deductible as allowed by U.S. law.
