Please consider helping me to support a great charity! I will be running the 116th Boston Marathon on April 16th 2012 to benefit Cops For Kids With Cancer. Cops For Kids With Cancer gives $5,000 one time assistance grants to families with children who are battling cancer. The families use this money to help with treatment costs, bills, etc. and the organization has no overhead and no salaries - all money donated goes directly to the people who need it. No donation amount is too small! Thanks for your consideration in supporting this great organization.
I will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday, March 31st at 7:00pm at The Brahmin located at 33 Stanhope Street in Boston. (www.thebrahmin.com) We will be serving lots of delicious appetizers and also holding drink specials and a raffle with great prizes including major sporting event tickets, restaurant gift certificates, and a few other special prizes. Suggested donation at the door will be $20 per person. More info to come soon on this event, but please mark it in your calendar! We would love to see you on Saturday March 31st!
More about Cops For Kids With Cancer:
Cops For Kids With Cancer is a federally recognized 501 ( C ) (3)
not-for-profit organization, and all the money raised goes to kids with
cancer. Currently, our money goes to the Pediatric Units of
the Massachusetts General Hospital and the floating Hospital for
Children at the New England Medical Center. The money is to be used just
for the children and for what they may need while they are patients (for
in or out-patient treatment). Cops For Kids With Cancer is a small
organization made of law enforcement officers and friends of law
enforcement, but we hope to grow in the future. No one in the
organization receives a salary, all are volunteers.
We are now trying to help families of children with cancer. We
understand that economic conditions often necessitate that both parents
work. When a child has cancer it is usually the mother who stops working
to take care of the sick child. Can you imagine the heartache of parents
whose child has cancer and then on top of it the worry of how to pay
their bills? We would now like to assist these families in a time of
need. But all of this takes money and that is why we need your support.
So please help us, so we can help children with cancer and their
