BENEFITING: Saha Global
EVENT DATE: May 16, 2014
To start off, I would just like to say thanks to anyone even taking the time to read this. I am asking for your kind donations because I have recently been accepted to join a fellowship with a non-profit called Community Water Solutions!
CWS is a unique non-profit organization located in the Northern region of Ghana. What they do is work with rural communities that are reliant on pond and river water sources and help them set up treatment centers that make sure the water is safe to drink. They then train women from villages how to maintain treatment centers, ensuring a continuous supply of clean water for their communities. While this is awesome for the villages, the women also benefit by 1.) having clean water to drink and by 2.) selling that water at about $.04 per 20 L of water. Their profits are used to sustain the business, meaning that all of the money stays in the community. CWS continues to monitor and evaluate the water businesses after implementation and posts all of their monitoring reports online at: ghanawaters.crowdmap.com 100% of the 60 water businesses they put in place are still functioning smoothly today...it's not often you see success like that.
In this region, along with many around the world, HALF of the population lacks access to clean drinking water. For almost two years now, my older sister Brianan has been trying to change that statistic, working hands on and engaging communities by helping to install low-cost, community scale water treatment. Although much of the time I'm skeptical about volunteer work because it is often not maintained properly and ends up being counterproductive in the long run, I know that CWS is not that. Through Brianan, I have seen the amazing progress that has been made in Ghana thanks to their work and am so proud of her for being a part of that.
So proud, in fact, that she has inspired me to join her and the Community Water Solutions team in their mission to combat unsafe water use in Ghanaian communities!! For three weeks this June, myself along with over three other fellows will be implementing a CWS water business in a new village. All of the money raised here will go directly to the process of doing that so I would genuinely appreciate any help you can contribute.
If you would prefer to send a check, no biggie, just put my name in the memo portion and send it to:

And to all of those who have the means, thank you SO much for your thoughtful, generous, kind, amazing, etc., etc., etc. donations because they mean the world to me and to all of those in Ghana who will have clean water as a result!
