BENEFITING: SECOND CHANCE DOG RESCUE
Darla was found wandering down 641 near Benton in the middle of the night and heavily pregnant. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted Second Chance Dog Rescue. We of course took her in immediately, and had her xrayed. Her x-ray showed 9-11 puppies, and we prepared for the daunting task of caring for this neglected mom and her giant litter. Thankfully, on April 19th she gave us a perfectly healthy and manageable litter of six puppies. We were all thrilled and relieved until her first litter wellness visit when we got the news we always dread: Darla was Heartworm Positive. Since she was nursing, there was nothing we could do but hope for the best until the bbaies were weaned. She was a fantastic mom, and all but one puppy has now been adopted, and it's her turn to be the baby again. She has begun Doxycylcine, but we need YOUR help to get her the Heartworm treatment she desperately needs to live the long and spoiled life that she deserves. Please, if you're able to donate even $1 would have a HUGE impact on this girl's life. Please spread the word, and as always, adopt, don't shop!
