BENEFITING: The Transverse Myelitis Association
When one gets "sick" life goes on, for others, and, we are left behind, to survive. Having Transverse Myelitis, being PARALYZED is the nightmare of all nightmares. Nobody know's how to fix you, there's no cure, no medication to help the HORRIFIC pain. The toll it takes on your mind, body and soul. I'm asking for your help to raise awareness, help with funding we need answers and the only way to get answers, is research.. to do research we need funds.. vicious circle. That why I'm asking for your help. DONATE
The goal of the Michigan Walk-Run-N-Roll Campaign is to increase awareness and raise funds for research and programs for individuals suffering from Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO), Optic Neuritis (ON), Transverse Myelitis (TM) and Recurrent Transverse Myelitis, and their caregivers.
On October 5, 2013, beginning at 8:00 a.m., the TMA Walk-Run-N-Roll Awareness Campaign in Michigan will be held on the campus of Harderwyk Ministries located at 1627 West Lakewood Boulevard, Holland, Michigan 49424.
It will be 4 years Dec 8th that I woke up paralyzed from the NECK down. After two terrifying months in the hospital, I was sent home with my new lifeless body, I learned how to drag it around with me day after day. I made a promise to myself that I would not stay in a wheelchair, I would learn how to walk, til the day I die. Through the years of physical therapy, medication, counseling and Faith. I’ve been able to go from a wheelchair, to a walker and now to a cane. Its all because of my WILL TO FIGHT, and my family and friends, who had faith in me, when I didn’t and encouraged me never to quit.
The venue is a quick 2.2 miles from the soft sands of Holland State Park and 5.5. miles from the quaint shops and restaurants of downtown Holland. The Michigan Walk-Run-N-Roll event is near the shores of Lake Michigan and only 2.5 hours north of Chicago! We look forward to your support; come join us and let’s raise awareness and funds to advance clinical care and research for rare neuro-immune diseases.
Registration opens at 8 AM and the walk will begin at 9:45 AM.
Sign up before October 1st to get the First Annual TMA Michigan Walk-Run-N-Roll T-Shirt!
