David Atack's Fundraiser:

Dave's Climb to Help Stop the Ivory Trade

David's Photo

BENEFITING: African Wildlife Foundation

EVENT DATE: Oct 03, 2015

David Atack

THE STORY:

Help me stop the global trade in ivory. Recently The National Geographic wrote a very disturbing piece on this trade: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/tracking-ivory/article.html

Briefly, the trade has clear links to terrorism in Africa, and kills 30,000 elephants every year. At this rate there will be no more wild elephants when our children are adults.

To help raise money to stop this trade and protect other threatened species, on October 3rd I am climbing Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet, this is the highest point in the continental US. It is a tough hike, not dangerous, but worth every step! Thank you for supporting me.
