Stuff About Me:

This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have cancer." They will be people we know and love.

This October we will be participating in a bicycle ride along the east coast of Florida to raise awareness for all those that have been affected by cancer and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.  We will depart from Amelia Island on the Georgia-Florida border on September 30.  If all goes well, eight days and 620 miles later we will pedal up to the "Southernmost point" marker in Key West.

On behalf of those affected by this disease, we are asking for your help and support for “Curt’s Ride to Cure Cancer.”  Your contribution will help the American Cancer Society fulfill their mission to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

We hope you will support this effort by clicking on one of the buttons above and making a donation in support of Curt's Ride to Cure Cancer.

For those that wish to do so, we would be honored to carry any messages or special memories of those special cancer patients from your lives.  Please feel free to forward anything to us via e-mail or snail mail.

Additional information about the ride, including the route map, planned itinerary, and progress notes, will be posted on the project Facebook page (on Facebook, search for "Curt's Ride" or go to ).

And for those that might be local to the ride route and so inclined, it would be great to have you ride along for a day - or for the whole thing!  Consider becoming a Curt's Ride team member and helping with our project.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

-Dave and Stacey

This year, we are riding in honor of Jim Beck.  Jim has been a force of nature in the growth of competition robotics programs on the west coast of the United States.  A long-time regional director for the FIRST Robotics Competition, Jim was driven to improve education and the lives of youths across the entire country.  Unfortunately, we just lost Jim at the start of the summer after a long battle with cancer.  He joins two others, Jeanie Davis Holmberg and Jim Powers, for whom we have previously ridden that were lost this year.  For all of them, and all those that they have affected in such a positive way, the Curt’s Ride To Cure Cancer project has been established to help find an end to this disease.
