BENEFITING: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY-REBUILD MICHIGAN
EVENT: Mighty Mac Swim 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 05, 2016
Some of the greatest experiences I have had include leading students in a study of cloud forest ecology and human rights in highland Guatemala, leading students in a study of wise use of land on a wilderness island in Lake Superior, leading students on learning expeditions in twenty U.S. states and a wide variety of built and natural environments, and creating a traveling school for students seeking more than traditional education offers.
I also now have the experience of owning a home. As a first-time home owner - just this year – after a lifetime of moving from place to place, I am discovering how healthy, affordable housing is fundamental for the development of rich, connected, purposeful lives. I am proud to support Habitat for Humanity and the building of homes, hope, and opportunity for families and communities.
Jim has inspired me to think big and focus on goals instead of obstacles. I will need that inspiration while raising money for Habitat for Humanity and training for and completing the Mighty Mac swim – the longest swim of my life. Please consider making a donation to Habitat for Humanity through the Mighty Mac Swim/Rebuild Michigan program. All you have to do is send whatever donation you can afford - I will do all the swimming!
