David Crandell

I'm a husband, a father, a physician, a friend, and a runner. Like it does for so many others, the Boston Marathon holds a special place in my heart. Marathon Monday has always been a great day - my favorite day - to live in Boston.
My medical specialty is amputee rehabiliation and I've had the honor of caring for many limb loss patients, including the survivors of last year's marathon bombing. Each and every day, I am inspired by my patients and gain strength from their strength. I last ran Boston 20 years ago and I've always known that my 1994 run wouldn't be my last. This year, I am working hard to be in great shape (all of those 5am winter runs really do add up) and am looking forward to lacing up on April 21st. For the first time, I'll be running with a blind runner. William, an awesome guy from Texas is vision impaired and wouldn't be able to run without a guide.
I hope you will support me, the teams from Spaulding Rehabiliation Hospital and the Massachusetts Association for the Blind, and all of the runners who are helping to make the 2014 Boston Marathon the best ever.
Cheering us on is terrific. Cheering for us AND making a donation is even better.
See you at the finish line!
