"Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind." -Lilo & Stitch
DJ and his wife Mindi are very dear friends of mine who I consider my own family; together they have three beautiful children, a son and two daughters and due to some devastatingly unexpected occurrences they need our help.
For those that know DJ you know the many years he's dedicated his life, his time and gone above and beyond for a lot of people when they were in hard spots.
For those that don't know him, DJ began his career in the fire service as a volunteer when he was a teenager and worked his way up to command staff. He then became an EMT, a Paramedic then a Field Training Officer (FTO) where he trained several people including myself, he took me on as an intern and shaped me into the Paramedic I am today. He's an incredible clinician with sound bedside manner and compassion.
So when someone who has been there to catch many people when they've fallen hits a rough patch in their own life the banding together of support defines brotherhood, whether or not you serve in the line of public safety or not true brotherhood comes from the heart and soul. With the holidays fast approaching and life continuing on as it does if you're able to donate I offer you my sincere appreciation, if you're unable to all I ask is that you share this link via social media and/or email, let's show how powerful we all can be and touch the hearts of a family that is very important to me and many others.
