BENEFITING: Sarcoma Foundation of America
Sarcoma is a rare cancer that affects the connective tissue in the body. It accounts for 1% of all adult cancers. There are 10,000 cases of soft tissue sarcoma and 2400 cases of bone sarcoma per a year. This is a small number compared to the 185,000 cases of breast cancer per a year. Because sarcoma is so rare, many physicians have never seen a case. That is why it is extremely important for patients with sarcoma to be treated in special facilites.
