Davids Chance of a Lifetime Doing What He Loves
Organized by: Jessica Mena
Hey Batter Batter Batter! These are the words that my son grew up hearing since he could walk! David is 11 years and has been playing baseball since he was 4. He is in love with the game of baseball and would rather go throw a ball around than play any video game. He is currently on a competitive travel baseball team called the North Valley Titans out of Granada Hills, Ca. His team received a once in a lifetime invitation to play in a World Series Tournament in Kauai, HI this June! To be very honest it is just so expensive between flights for 3(me, my 8 yr old daughter, and David) and a week long hotel stay that we are responsible for out of our pocket. At this time I (his mother) is the only one bringing in income and it's literally only enough to cover bills and necessities. The tournament is June 20-25 and as of today, March 8th, I have not been able to book a room or flights because I simply don't have the money to do it. Unfortunately flights are getting more expensive as time passes. I would hate to devestate my son by telling him he can't go because of my inability to pay. This would crush him and not to mention break his heart when all his teammate's come back and brag about how much fun they had. Your donation would help support a baseball dream, not a vacation. We aren't going to Hawaii to bask in the sun and drink mai tais'. We will be on a baseball field for hours at a time getting dirty and playing hard! Your generosity means the world to me and my son. Like I always have said good things come to those who have done good upon others. I'm crossing my fingers this is my time.
