Davids Healing Hope
Organized by: David Gapp
On January 10th, 2016, David Gapp, a 55 year old truck driver from Grand Junction, CO was attempting to deliver a load in Cedar City, UT. It had snowed very lightly the evening before making the concrete drive somewhat slick. Even being very cautious, having to be out of his truck to examine the area, David lost his footing with both feet at once, slipped and fell. Landing flat on his back and hitting his head. David fractured his neck in two places which caused slight effusion to his spinal cord resulting in spinal stenosis. David has been attempting to recover back at home and is scheduled to have a reconstructive surgery in mid april. Prior to this accident, David had no options for a place to live except in a small camper, which he had parked behind his friends home. It was all he had left after being forced to sell his home to avoid foreclosure. David has lived a very fulfilling life, serving in the US Marine Corps and as a Police Officer after his discharge. He married in Palisade CO where he was father and stepfather to 6 children. He ran a successful construction company in the Grand Valley for 18 years, until the housing and mortgage collapse in 2007. David has always given so much of himself and now faces a long battle to recover and may possibly never be able to drive his truck commercially ever again. We are trying to raise funds to help David with the large expenses of his injury and to possibly find him a home. He has been having to spend most of the winter alone, with a broken neck in his camper. Wondering what the rest of his life may have in store. Anything that you can do for David is sincerely appreciated to help with his situation. He deserves so much more than he has been handed back from life. May God Bless you in advance for your assistance.
