David Omondi has worked with the Los Angeles Catholic Worker for years, providing hot meals, medicine and clothing to the skid row community in downtown Los Angeles. On Saturday, November 30th he is leaving for Nairobi, Kenya to start the first Catholic Worker Community in the continent of Africa.
David's first item of business is to dig a well that will provide a free, renewable source of water to the community. David's father owns 30 acres outside of Nairobi surrounding the dig site, and once completed David's Well will mean the difference between life and death for thousands of displaced Nairobi citizens.
Your donations will enable David to complete the well and establish solar and wind power for the community. These sustainable resources will enable David and other members of the community to continue the Catholic Worker's mission of humanitarian relief and peace in the region.
