Dave Tolbert has been active in sports and his community his whole life. A native of Colorado, he spends a great deal of time outdoors, skiing in the winter and riding in the summer. He has been a member of the National Ski Patrol, the local volunteer fire department, and several MS150 bike teams. After racing bikes for several years in the local racing scene, it was a natural transition to triathlon: swimming however, did not come easy. He began the sport of triathlon in 2011 chasing after his wife Mare (the real triathlete) who was to compete in her third Ironman event. After they both competed in Ironman Canada in 2012 he said that was it, one and done, but was convinced otherwise when Ironman Boulder was announced for 2014. They are both excited to compete together in several events in Colorado during the summer of 2014. By approaching triathlon with a greater purpose in mind, Dave hopes to continue his community minded efforts and promote his sport in a very positive way.
The Ironman Foundation is a great fit for Dave's aspirations to contribute to the greater good of his community and the people within it. Please consider donating to this great cause and helping the Ironman Foundation bring much needed funding to the community we live and race in right here in Denver.
