To my many friends and colleagues,
On April 15, 2013, I will be joining more than 30,000 runners in making the historic 26.2 mile trek from Hopkinton to Boston during the 117th running of the Boston Marathon.
As a member of Team John Hancock it is a pleasure for me to raise funds to support deserving Massachusetts young people through the Ron Burton Training Village and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.
Inspired and founded by former New England Patriot great Ron Burton "the mission of the Ron Burton Training Village is to build within youth from low income communities, racial harmony, leadership, self determination, respect and love for others through a program of spiritual, educational and physical fitness training in a wholesome, caring environment."
The Boys and Girls Club of Boston, headed by the philanthropic Kraft family, does equally significant work on behalf of thousands of young people in the Metropolitan Boston area.
I hope you will join me in supporting these worthwhile causes.
You may contribute on-line using the website noted below.
It is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fund-raising efforts.
If you prefer, you may make out a check to the “Boys and Girls Club of Boston”, noting in the memo section “BAA--Team JH--D Weisman”. All funds raised will be equally divided between the two organizations. You may give me the check or mail it to me at home. I will make sure that it is delivered to this worthy charity.
For my colleagues at JH, please do not forget that for every dollar you contribute, John Hancock will match that gift dollar for dollar!!! If you do take advantage of a matching gift, please note on the submission form that it is for "BAA Marathon - Team JH - D Weisman". Also, please forward a copy of the matching gift receipt to me so that I may get credit in my fundraising efforts.
This year's run will be my 3rd Boston marathon.
Please join me in supporting these worthwhile charities! Please join me in helping to provide support for so many deserving young people.
Your generosity is deeply appreciated. Please make a contribution today!
I will be posting regular updates to my marathon web site with information on my training for the big day.
Thanks as always for your support and your friendship.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!!!
