ORGANIZER: DAWN - DOMESTIC ABUSE WOMENS NETWORK
Mileage Tracker: 140
This is the third year I have walked/ran in the Seattle Marathon. Last year I participated to raise awareness for Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) and although there were only two of us participating, the seed was planted.
This year is the first year of TEAM DAWN – MISSION POSSIBLE. A team dedicated to raising awareness and money for a good cause while having a fun and pounding the pavement.
Please help me by forwarding this to friends and family and by either joining Team DAWN and/or making a donation and helping me reach my goal of $275. Thank You!!
Don’t let anyone think hurt equals love -- we can stop the cycle of abuse!
DAWN’s mission is to lead and support efforts in south King County communities to end domestic violence by providing the critical services and education for survivors to make informed choices about their future and engaging communities to raise awareness and take action.
DAWN's services include: the only 24-hour Advocacy & Crisis Line in south King County; a continuum of housing program - a 40-bed confidential emergency shelter, an extended stay transitional housing program, and hotel/motel vouchers; community-based advocacy program with legal advocacy, support groups, prevention education to local middle and high school youth, mental health services, and a Kid’s Club program for children (and their moms) affected by domestic violence. Interpretation services and TTP are available. All services are provided free of charge.
