Hello, my friends!
I'm honored once again to share with you my running of the TCS NYC Marathon on November 1st in support of the Jack H. Marston II Melanoma Fund. By joining Jack's Team, I've committed to raising at least $2,500 to help fight melanoma.
This cause remains very near and dear to my heart. On March 21, 2011, I lost my dear friend Tami Wood-Lively. She courageously battled melanoma, and for those who knew Tami, she never gave up fighting. I continue to miss her smile and laugh.
In 2013, I made sure Tami was with me every step of the marathon. We all know she was smiling with those dimples from ear to ear. NYC 2015 will mark my 24th marathon and Tami's 3rd. :)
I have chosen to run the NYC Marathon for Jack's Team - raising funds for melanoma research and awareness programs. Melanoma is a very serious form of skin cancer. Although accounting for only 4% of total skin cancer cases, it is the leading cause of skin cancer related deaths. The risk of developing melanoma is increasing, and most frighteningly, the cases of melanoma amongst young children are on the rise. In 2013, there were more than 76,000 new cases of melanoma and almost 10,000 deaths.
Thank you supporting me and this great cause. If you’d like to learn more about Jack’s Fund, please visit: www.jacksfund.org
26.2 miles - AGAIN. Love and miss you, Blam.
