Inspire Hospitality Training
Organized by: Chef Tate
Event Name: DC Gives More
EVENT DATE Dec 02, 2014
Inspire has been serving the DC community for 12 years by providing food service for charter schools, managing a successful BBQ shop that was located on H street and providing hospitality training in to veterans and underprivileged youth. Inspire’s Chef Tate started focusing on veteran issues after it became abundantly clear that veterans were now requiring additional support in order to successfully reenter U.S. civilian society. Chef Tate encourages the community to support our veterans and help them to have the things they need to always strive for excellence.
The Inspire Hospitality Training Program offers job training to veterans and youth via education on food prep and job application and interviewing skills for use in the hospitality industry. Through partnerships with community organizations, Inspire has also provided trainees with business suits for interviews. This really gives the veterans and youths a renewed confidence and pride. This training program gives the veterans a way to provide for themselves and youths an opportunity to plan for the future. The Inspire Hospitality training program will significantly reduce the number of homeless veterans by improving their lives which inspires them to offer assistance to others.
As a recipient of many awards and meda attention (featured on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, etc.) many think our program thrives. And it does in many ways. It “thrives” in its commitment to the community it serves. It “thrives” in its passion to serve. And, it “thrives” in its determination and its covenant to continue to serve. But, it struggles lile every other program that is dedicated to the urban community. We hope you will support our passion with your donation so that we can continue to do the work we passionately do.
Your support helps to pay for training materials, trainers, facilities for training sessions, food and meals during the training and transportation for students to local organizations and potential hiring partners.
