Debbie Tranchemontagne started her restaurant career on June 8, 1987 when she opened “Lucky’s” on Main Street in Val Caron. Once she built up her first venture, she decided to open up “Buddie’s Restaurant & Sports Bar” at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre. After spending 16 years turning “Buddie’s” into one of the most popular dining and entertainment establishments in the region, she opened up Buddie’s Café in Azilda for another six years. On October 9, 2015, Debbie returned to where it all began at the home of “Lucky’s” as the General Manager/Chef of First Round Restaurant & Sports Bar. Now, after 29 years of dedication and commitment to excellence for her loyal customers, Debbie is facing the biggest challenge of her life and is in need of your help. Debbie is in critical condition at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, where doctors are treating her for a brain trauma that has resulted in multiple complications. There is no timeline for recovery and once she is out of critical status she has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of her. Right now, family and friends are hoping for the best and counting on Debbie’s determination and courage to pull her through. But Debbie is in need of funds to help her pay the bills back home. She will be in Toronto for at least 2 to 3 more weeks and then will be off work for a lengthy period of rehabilitation. She will need help to pay her living and housing expenses. Debbie’s family has organized a Go Fund Me campaign and is asking for the support of her friends and customers. Anything you can provide will be greatly appreciated by Debbie.
