Debbie is Walking

THE STORY:

This is my 7th year walking to raise awareness and money. Breast Cancer has touched everyone - either by your own experience or the experience of a family member or friend. I have always dedicated my walking to the survivors in the circle of my family and friends. This year I walk especially for one of them who lost her battle - way too young - with so much promise ahead.

The Walk in Holliston is a home-grown event that makes a big impact – we are proud to donate 100% of all walker donations to DFCI by covering our costs with sponsorship money. A Holliston resident started this event to give back and her friends have continued this commitment for many years in her memory.

Please help me provide the resources to those dedicated researchers and programs that help the survivors of today and to eliminate the need of all this for tomorrow.

Both of my elder sisters have suffered this and so far pulled through -- one not so lucky as to be in remission, but happy she's still around to make me laugh! 4 years ago

Debbie, My dear cousin's wife died of breast cancer @ 35, a few years ago, so your comment that it has affected us all definitely hits home for me... Really glad you are doing this... --Susan 4 years ago
