BENEFITING: Corazon De Vida Foundation
ORGANIZER: Corazon De Vida Foundation
EVENT DATE: Dec 07, 2013
On December 7th I will be visiting the Door of Faith orphanage located in La Misión, Mexico, about halfway between the cities of Rosarito and Enseñada in Baja California. This visit is part of our annual Holiday Trip fundraising campaign. This orphanage is home to over 100 children, 10 of whom have disabilities and 20 of whom are infants. I will be visiting Door of Faith as a volunteer of Corazon De Vida, a wonderful US-based non-profit organization that has dedicated the last 20 years to supporting the orphanages in Baja California and the children that live in them.
The children at the Door of Faith orphanage and at the 14 other orphanages that are supported by Corazon de Vida end up in these homes for a wide variety of reasons. Many are abandoned by their parents, others come from severely abusive homes, some children’s parents are simply unable to care for them financially, and others are found living on the streets. Each child has their own story but they all have one thing in common: the desire for a stable, loving home, where they receive 3 meals a day, have the opportunity to go to school and receive basic medical care, and be able to dream of having full productive lives.
Since Mexico does not have a foster-care system the orphanages rely on donations for virtually all of their financial support. Most of this support comes from the United States and most of this support from individuals just like you and I.
I know that there are so many worthy causes for you to donate to but I ask you to prayerfully consider joining me in feeding, housing, clothing, caring for medical needs and educating the 100 children that call Door of Faith home. I can tell you first hand from my visits to many of the orphanages in Baja that your donations truly do make a difference in the lives of these children.
Please donate now! No donation is too small.
Thank you and may God bless you!
