Shahriar Rahimi wrote -Families trying to survive in extreme poverty must often make agonizing choices between eliminating their children's hunger and buying the medicine they need. A billion chronically hungry people -- mostly women and children -- are losing their hope for a better future.
Please help defeat world hunger -- there is still so much more that NEEDS to be done:
*25,000 lives are lost every day from hunger and poverty (United Nations)
* This year 11 million children younger than 5 will die needlessly, more than half from hunger-related causes (United Nations)
*Poor families spend over 70% of their income on food. (An average American family spends just over 10%).
