BENEFITING: THE SERGEANT THOMAS JOSEPH SULLIVAN CENTER
Donate $50 to support our fight to protect healthcare for veterans with war lung injuries and we'll send you a t-shirt. Email size and shirt (white/wicking) preference to email@example.com.
The SSC has had a busy season with the Chicago Marathon and the upcoming Marine Corps Marathon here in DC. Each year, we provide t-shirts for our runners and supporters of Team Sergeant Sullivan. We generally provide these shirts as thank you items for the rest of the year to our donors.
But this year we have a pressing need that requires us to push for funding for a very important project -- and we want to give away all of our t-shirts NOW to donors of $50 or more to support Team Sergeant Sullivan Center and the fight to protect health care for our military service members with toxic wounds.
On November 6, the SSC travelled to Dayton to fight the implementation of defense health policies that would have deprived hundreds of thousands of military personnel of healthcare for war lung injuries. We collected statements from advocacy groups, scientistist, and specialists. Check them out here.
As a result of our advocacy, the Defense Health Board adjusted its recommendations in a way that will promote improved access to care for deployment lung injuries. The new recommendations will be released soon.
This was the first, successful step in a very big, very long battle to fight misguided policies that put our military men and women risk, and we need your help to get the job done.
Our next step is to seek a new tasking for the Defense Health Board to review the existing DoD policies on environmental and occupational illnesses, and make comprehensive recommendations, informed by stakeholders and independent medical and defense experts, to improve access to best practices care for environmental injuries related to military service. Join us.
Donate $50 or more to support this project and we will send you your choice of either a grey moisture wicking polyester t-shirt with our logo on the front and a motto on the back, or a white t-shirt with the same images. After you make your donation, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, mailing address, t-shirt size (S, M, L, XL) and preference (white or wicking). Thank you for your support.
